General notes on data processing

We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. Below we inform you about the collection and processing of personal data when you use our website, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (e.g. name, email address, IP address).

Hosting (Vercel)

This website is hosted on servers operated by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. Vercel processes technically necessary data (IP address, browser type, timestamp) in the course of providing the hosting service.

The transfer to the USA takes place on the basis of Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) in accordance with Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR. Further information can be found in the Vercel privacy policy.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in operating the website).

Server log files

Each time a page is requested, our hosting provider Vercel automatically collects information that your browser transmits and stores it in so-called server log files. The data collected includes:

• anonymised IP address (last octets are truncated)
• date and time of the request
• browser type and version (user agent)
• operating system
• referrer URL (previously visited page)
• requested URL and data volume transferred
• HTTP status code

This data is used solely for the technical provision of the website, to maintain security (detection and defence against attacks) and for statistical evaluation in a non-personal form. No merging with other data sources takes place. Log files are stored for a maximum of 30 days and are then automatically deleted.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and functional operation of the website).

Fonts (self-hosted)

This website uses the typefaces Montserrat and DM Sans, served locally from our own server. No connection is made to Google servers or other external font providers. No personal data is transferred to third parties.

JavaScript libraries (self-hosted)

For scroll and animation features we use the open-source libraries Lenis and GSAP. These are served exclusively from our own server. No connection is made to external content delivery networks (CDN). No personal data is transferred to third parties.

Google Maps (consent-based loading)

On our location section we offer the option to load an interactive Google Maps embed (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland; parent company: Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA).

The map is only loaded after you actively click the corresponding button (so-called "click-to-load" pattern). Only at that point is a connection to Google's servers established. The transfer includes in particular your IP address, browser information, date and time of the request and possibly additional data. This data may be transferred to the USA.

By clicking "Load map" you give your consent within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and § 25 (1) TDDDG (German law transposing the ePrivacy Directive). This consent applies only to the current session and can be withdrawn by reloading the page.

The transfer to the USA is based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and Google's certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 (3) GDPR).

Contact by email or phone

If you contact us by email or phone, your details (name, email address, phone number, message) are stored for the purpose of processing your inquiry and for any follow-up questions. We do not share this data without your consent.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest).

Cookies & analytics

This website does not use tracking cookies and does not deploy any analytics tool such as Google Analytics.

To measure anonymous page views we use Vercel Web Analytics (provider: Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA). This tool is designed to be privacy-friendly: no cookies are set, no IP addresses are stored, and no personal data is collected. The data captured (page views, approximate region, device category) is fully aggregated and anonymised.

The aggregated analytics data is processed on Vercel servers in the USA. The transfer is based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR) and on Vercel's certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 (3) GDPR).

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in optimising the website). No consent is required because no personal data is processed. Further information: Vercel Analytics privacy.

Your rights as a data subject
